RUSTY is an 8-to-10-month-old, neutered male Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix. He has an easy-care, red-cream brindle coat with lovely curls down his back. He has a cute, funny, want-to-please personality. Rust is crate-trained & housebroken. He walks nicely on lead, rides well in the car and has his basic training under his belt (sit, come, down) and is very good about not jumping on people. RUSTY is a well-mannered house guest. He has been sleeping on his bed without being crated at night and has earned home alone daytime house privileges. He will use the dog door to go out to potty or will alert at the door.

RUSTY enjoys playing with his toys. He is learning to fetch, likes squeaky toys and chewing on his antler. He is friendly and plays well with other dogs. He could very easily cohabitate with cats, small dogs or other animals. He greets everyone with a full body wag. RUSTY has a medium drive. He is best suited to activities such as hiking, jogging, and hanging out at coffee shops while you read the paper. He loves to learn and has the potential and temperament for a therapy dog or obedience training. He might also enjoy learning agility or frisbee. He settles well in the house and is good about entertaining himself with his toys. He is not a needy dog but really is happiest when he can just be around his people.
