Say hello to sweet ELI. He is a 1-½ year old BC mix with a smooth coat. He is a medium to large boy at 55 lbs. ELI's favorite thing is to be with his person and lay his head in your lap. He will follow you around the house and yard. He is a super snuggly boy who is more motivated by praise than food.


ELI loves other dogs and plays well with all the dogs he has met. He is overly cat curious and should not be placed in a home with cats. ELI does well walking with a halter but still needs to work on his leash training. He has good recall and he LOVES to swim! Would love to see him in a home where he would be able to continue to swim. He is a very sweet, soft boy with a big heart and a great disposition. ELI loves to go for car rides, loads up and rides with no problems. He is potty trained and sleeps easily in his crate at night. He is fine on his own for a few hours when his foster mom is away.


ELI is a medium to high energy dog who likes to herd small things. He will need regular exercise and a job to do to keep his mind engaged. ELI came into the shelter with an rear knee injury (torn ACL). BC Rescue took him in and gave him the surgery needed to repair his knee. He has been recovering in foster care for 7 weeks and is ready to find his forever home. ELI has made a full recovery but he will need to work up to walks longer than 1 mile. Swimming is really great to build muscle in his leg.


ELI can be a little shy in new situations and would do best with a soft touch, gentle direction and encouragement. He responds very well to praise and encouragement but will withdraw if the situation is stressful. With a little encouragement he shines like a diamond!


ELI is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
